Horizon: multiplayer in the making
Guerrilla Games is preparing a multiplayer game in the Horizon universe. A game based on cooperation?
The VR spin-off and Horizon expansion Forbidden West won’t be the last games in the Horizon universe that we owe to Guerrilla Games. The studio is developing at least two more games for the PlayStation license, including a multiplayer game.

Guerrilla made this announcement indirectly through a tweet with a job offer. In addition to working on “the epic solo adventures of Aloy,”the star of the first two opuses, the studio has put together a dedicated team to develop an “online project in the Horizon universe.”Partizan also elaborated that the latter would offer new characters and a “unique stylized look”, adding that friends would be able to play together, suggesting an emphasis on collaboration.
A game based on cooperation?
Since last year, there have been rumors that Guerrilla is preparing a multiplayer game in the Horizon universe, and today the studio has confirmed that this is the case. At present, Sony has focused its efforts on games with online services. The Japanese giant also plans to launch no later than March 10, 2026, in particular, a multiplayer game in the universe of The Last of Us. With this, no one knows how this Horizon online game will fit into this strategy.
In addition to the three upcoming games and the Forbidden West DLC, even more content is needed to obtain a license. A Horizon TV series is in development on Netflix. There are also rumors that a mobile game and remaster of Zero Dawn for PS5 is being prepared.
