Huawei MateBook E with Windows 11, OLED Display Launched: Specs, Price
Chinese smartphone giant Huawei has been in the laptop industry for quite some time now. The company launched its latest Huawei MateBook E yesterday, which will compete with the likes of the Microsoft Surface Pro 8. The Huawei MateBook E is a Windows 11 convertible PC out of the box. However, the biggest highlight is probably the 12.6-inch OLED display. Other than that, the laptop contains some pretty powerful hardware and supports some accessories that can help users improve their productivity.
Huawei Mate Specifications
The laptop is equipped with a 12.6-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2600 × 1600 pixels, 16:10 aspect ratio and 90% screen-to-body ratio. The display brightness can reach 400 nits. The laptop is equipped with an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1130G7 processor or an 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1160G7 processor paired with Iris Xe graphics and up to 16GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD. Customers can choose the 11th Gen Core i5-1130G7 model with 8GB RAM with 256GB SSD or 16GB with 1TB SSD. The 11th Gen Core i7-1160G7 variant comes with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD.

The new Huawei MateBook E offers all modern wireless connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. The laptop also has a Thunderbolt 4 port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. In terms of camera, the laptop features an 8MP front camera and a 13MP rear camera, and in terms of audio, there are four speakers and microphones on board for superior multimedia and communication experience.
Huawei MateBook E supports the 2nd generation M-Pencil and detachable Huawei keyboard. The laptop’s power button also doubles as a fingerprint scanner. It has a 42Wh lithium polymer battery with 65W charging that can charge the laptop up to 54% in 30 minutes, and it takes 90 minutes to fully charge. It weighs less than a kilogram, or rather 907 grams.

The new Huawei MateBook E has a starting price of 5,999 yuan, for an Intel Core i5 variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. The model with Intel Core i5, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of SSD costs 6,999 yuan. The best variant of the MateBook E with Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD costs 7999 yuan. The laptop is presented in two color options – Interstellar Blue and Nebula Ash. It is not yet clear if Huawei will launch it in other regions outside of China or not, but even if it is launched overseas, it will be quite expensive.
