Hyper Scape: Battle Royale Endgame
Ubisoft’s futuristic Battle Royale servers will shut down next April.
One and a half years after its launch, French publisher Ubisoft announces the closure of the Hyper Scape servers: “We wanted to create a shooter that offers intense and fast close combat, infused with verticality, and we thank the community for following us. it’s an adventure. We will use everything we learned about this game in our future projects. Thank you to the entire Hyper Scape community for your passion and dedication to the world of Neo Arcadia, both in and out of the game. Your dedication to the game we created will forever remain in our hearts.»
Despite three seasons of content, Hyper Scape never really appealed to fans of the genre due to its gaudy art direction, aiming issues, and finally the intensity of Battle Royale. If Ubisoft stops spending on this project, several teams will still be working on Ghost Recon Frontline, The Division Heartland and Tom Clancy’s XDefiant.
