Asus ROG Fusion II 500, Fusion II 300 Quad-DAC RGB Gaming Headphones: Price, Specs

Asus, headquartered in Taiwan, has launched two new gaming headphones on the market, the Asus ROG Fusion II 300 and ROG Fusion II 500. These new headphones are equipped with quad-channel DAC technology and come with RGB lighting to catch the attention of gamers.

The ROG Fusion II 500, Fusion II 300 gaming headphones are also equipped with artificial intelligence microphones and have a dedicated in-game chat volume control. Let’s take a closer look at the new headphones from Asus, their price, features and availability.

The Asus ROG Fusion II 500 is priced at $307, but the Asus ROG Fusion II 300 price has yet to be announced. Both new headsets will be available from March 2022 at authorized Asus outlets, partners and major offline retailers in the country.

ROG Fusion II 500 and Fusion II 300 have a lot in common. Both headsets use 50mm Asus Essence drivers with a frequency response of 20-40,000Hz, delivering simulated 7.1 surround sound with built-in ROG Hyper-Grounding technology.

These new gaming headphones feature dedicated ESS 9280 Quad DAC amplifiers, with each of the four DACs assigning its processing to a subset of the audible frequency range – low, mid, high and ultra high – to create surround sound.

Asus has incorporated AI noise reduction into AI beamforming microphones. AI noise reduction technology is claimed to minimize up to 90% of background noise such as chatter, keyboard clatter, and mouse clicks. The gaming headphones have dedicated controls for turning the built-in microphone and surround sound on and off in conjunction with the volume controls.

Gamers can also use over 16.8 million color combinations and six preset lighting effects with the Armory Crate software that comes with the headphones. Available effects include static, breathing, strobe, music, color cycle, and rainbow.

The Game Chat Volume Control (only available on the Asus ROG Fusion II 500) allows gamers to change the volume level of the game and voice chat using the slider on the headphones. Connectivity options for ROG Fusion II 500 include USB Type-C, USB Type-A, and a 3.5mm jack. On the other hand, the ROG Fusion II 300 has USB Type-C and USB-A connectivity options, but lacks a 3.5mm headphone port.
