The studio behind the Indian version of PUBG Mobile is taking drastic measures against cheating. Cheating devices will now be permanently banned.
Cheating in video games has become a problem since.. . the very first video games. Today, with the proliferation of online games, cheaters can completely undermine the gameplay. In India, the developer of the local version of PUBG Mobile decided to take it up a notch.
PUBG Mobile Indian Studio Takes Strong Action Against Cheating
Cheating is a problem that exists in mobile games, as elsewhere. Krafton has decided to take additional steps to end this practice for those who do abuse it. 91Mobiles reports that the development studio is now permanently banning cheating devices from its game Battlegrounds Mobile India (also known as the local version of PUBG Mobile). Players banned in this way will no longer be able to create new accounts to further ruin your games. From now on, at least in theory, they will have to buy a new smartphone or a new tablet.
Cheaters’ devices will be permanently banned
The concept of device bans is not new. Games like Call of Duty: Warzone or Valorant block a lot of devices every day. On the other hand, it’s not as widespread on mobile devices and Battlegrounds Mobile India is likely to be a prime and impressive example with at least 16 million players participating in the game every day.
Banning devices does not cause cheats to suddenly disappear in a battle royale game. While it takes more effort to bypass device lock, especially on a mobile device, it’s not impossible. However, Krafton’s efforts may have deterred the occasional scammer, and this, in turn, may have helped attract and retain honest players. Appointment after a few weeks / months to evaluate the effectiveness of this measure.
