iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max devoid of cutout – sort of
CUPERTINO, Calif. — Apple’s new flagship phones have been unveiled, and iPhone design critics from 2017 will be pleased to see the company take a fresh approach to the camera and sensor notch at the top of the screen.
Instead of a notch running down from the top of the display, there is now what will appear to users as a pill-shaped notch a few pixels below the bottom to house the selfie camera, 3D sensor, and more. It occupies a smaller portion of the screen by default, but can dynamically resize itself to display various status indicators and other user interface elements, blurring the line between the notch and the rest of the screen.
Apple’s September product event is ongoing and we’ll be updating this post with more details as they become available.
