iQOO 9 could be launched by February 2022, will ship with 120W charging, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
iQOO launched the iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro smartphones in China in August. Both of these devices feature an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a triple camera on the back. These phones are yet to be introduced to the Indian market and it looks like the company has no plans to launch these devices in the near future. The successor to the iQOO 8 line is the iQOO 9 series in the works. While the launch of the iQOO 9 lineup in China remains a mystery, we have details on the launch of the iQOO 9 in India, courtesy of 91Mobiles.
iQOO 9 scheduled to launch by February 2022
According to industry sources for 91Mobiles, the iQOO 9 series smartphone will go on sale by the end of January or early February 2022. According to industry sources, at least one of the phones in the iQOO 9 line will support 120W. fast charging. We can expect the brand to release two iQOO 9 series devices namely iQOO 9 Vanilla and iQOO 9 Pro/Legend model.
In today’s news, iQOO also confirmed that its next flagship smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, which could likely be the iQOO 9 or iQOO 9 Pro. If past leaks are taken into account, the iQOO 9 smartphone has appeared in the IMEI database. The IMEI database lists the device’s model number as V2171A. Specifications for iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro remain closed at this time. However, you can expect these upcoming phones to come with a 120Hz refresh rate AMOLED display, a triple-camera setup, and a 4,500mAh battery.
In terms of software, we can also expect these phones to run Android 12 out of the box. Recall the characteristics of iQOO 8: the device is equipped with a 6.56-inch AMOLED display with FHD + resolution. The display panel display has a refresh rate of 120Hz, a screen-to-body ratio of 92.76, a pixel density of 398 PPI, and an aspect ratio of 19:9. Under the hood, the iQOO 8 Vanilla model is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. On the other hand, iQOO 8 Pro comes with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The device is powered by Snapdragon 888+ processor. It holds up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The device is equipped with a 50MP triple camera and a 16MP front selfie camera. The rest of the specs iQOO 8 Pro offers include 5G, 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C port, 4500mAh battery, 120W fast charging support, and 50W Qi wireless charging.
