Jak & Daxter: Sony ready to bring another Naughty Dog license to film or TV

After Uncharted in film, director Ruben Fleischer is working with the teams at PlayStation Productions and Sony Pictures on a possible adaptation of Jak & Daxter.

Even if nothing is done in the near future, Ruben Fleischer wants to give himself the opportunity to convince the Sony experts to take on this new project: “Now I’m working on Jak & Daxter, the last movie / series, for the PlayStation, which would be really cool to do. ”

In a recent interview with GameSpot, British comedian Tom Holland also said that a film adaptation of Jak & Daxter would be the next video game adaptation he dreams of: “I would like to make a movie with these characters and I would play Jack. But I would do it on the A24 to be really weird and dark. Yes, I would do a very strange live version of Jak & Daxter. ”

Return of Jak & Daxter to the fore in Sony Interactive Entertainment?

An adaptation by Jak & Daxter has been in development for some time now. In 2013, Blockade Entertainment was going to create an animated film based on the game Naughty Dog and Sly Cooper. It’s unclear if this is a continuation of that project or a project restarted from scratch to align with Sony’s new strategy for films and series based on video games. It should be noted that Ratchet & Clank was the subject of an animated film that resulted in a successful reboot of the video game. A renewed interest in licensing could mean that Jak & Daxter could see a similar resurgence.
