How to Add Sockets to Equipment in Diablo 4
Diablo 4 has brought back the ability to add sockets to your gear. Gear plays an important role in your build as it can determine things like your movement speed, defense, and more. And here gems come to the rescue. You can use them to upgrade your equipment. So here is a quick guide on how it works in Diablo 4.
How to add a socket in Diablo 4

You need to be level 20 and have prisms and gold scattered in order to be able to add sockets to your equipment in Diablo 4. The process is quite simple, here’s what you need to do:
- Level up your character to level 20. You can do this as you progress through the game. Kill various enemies, world bosses, etc.
- Next, go to the jeweler. You can find the jeweler “Kratia”in Kövashad.
- A menu will open on the left, click on the third tab “Add sockets”.
- Then, from the right screen, drag the gear piece to the left screen. This gear will be where you get your new socket.
- Finally, spend the required amount of Scattered Prisms and Gold.
Now you will add the socket to your gear. While it’s easy to get gold, you’ll need to defeat world bosses to get scattered prisms.
What are sockets used for?
Sockets are useful in Diablo IV to give your gear an extra attribute. They don’t do anything on their own, instead they create a slot on your gear that allows you to add gems to it. And each gem has different attributes. So when you get gear with great but limited stats. You can upgrade it by adding sockets and gems to it. Some gears may also come with sockets already installed.
