How to Use Reactive Discord Images
Since its inception, Discord has become popular among gamers. However, shortly thereafter from gamers; Discord has shifted towards the mainstream audience. This means that now Discord is used not only by typical gamers, but also by other professionals. As a result, a new Discord reactive image trend is spreading across the web, and we’re here to help you make it happen. So, with that said, let’s get started!
What are Discord Reactive Images?
If you watch live streams on YouTube or Twitch, you might notice that they keep talking to their buddies. This is achieved using Discord Call.
With the right technique, you can use Discord voice and even video to show user avatars during a conversation. Interestingly, this is even possible with YouTuber-style virtual characters.
When a guy speaks or the speaker icons light up, the avatar starts to move. This means that if the user speaks, the AI avatar speaks instead of showing the user’s face.
To put it simply, if you use Discord Reactive images, you will talk and Discord will show your avatar talking instead of your actual face. Sounds interesting. Is not it?
So now the guys who searched Discord for the AI Speaking avatar now know what it’s called. Now that you know everything, let’s start with how you can create one for your own use.
How to Create and Use Reactive Discord Images
If you already know what Discord reactive images are, you can create them yourself. Therefore, be sure to read this guide carefully, otherwise some problems may occur and you may encounter errors. By the way, lately, many users have complained that the Discord microphone is not working.
Step 1. Create some PNG images.
First of all, you need to create some PNG images. PNG stands for Portable Network Graphics, although they are much less portable than JPG or WEBP. But we’re not using anything, so let’s stick with PNG.
By default, Discord provides a very low resolution profile, i.e. 128×128 pixels. Well, that’s pretty low. That’s why we recommend using the avatar maker. You will find many of them on the Internet.
In our case, we used Canva, you can use it too. Or you can use something else, especially if you find something free. We use Canva because it is easily accessible and very easy to work with even for beginners.
Typically for reactive Discord images, users use Vtuber-style avatars and transparent versions of their Twitch profile images.
To do this in Canva, follow these steps:
- Open Canva.
- Click Create Design.
- From the drop-down menu, click Custom Size.
- Now set the Width to 512px and Height to 512px.
- Then click “Create a new design”.
- Now go to Google and search for anime pictures.
- Choose any anime picture you like.
- Right-click on the image and select “Open in new tab”.
- Now hold this image and drag it onto Canva.
- Select the downloaded image and click “Edit”.
- In the menu on the left, click RemoveBG.
- Your background will be removed and you are now ready to use the image as a reactive Discord image.
- Click “Share”and then select “Upload”.
- It is very important. Don’t forget to check the box with a transparent background.
- Click Download.
Step 2: Add an image to the Discord Reactive Image Tool
Now that the difficult step is complete, it’s easy. You have to open Discord Reactive’s image tool and add avatars.
However, this step is very important because you need to integrate the image into the software in order for the images to work while streaming. Follow these simple steps to integrate images using the Reactive image tool:
- Follow this link.
- Allow Discord to integrate with this tool by clicking Sign In.
- Now log in to Discord again to confirm it’s you.
- Once you are logged in, upload your photos. Make sure you upload two photos. One will flash while you are calm and the other will move while you are talking.
- You can also upload the same image in the “Speaking and inactive”section.
- On the right, check the Bounce effect.
- Now open Notepad and copy both links on the right.
- Paste them into Notepad so you don’t forget.
Now everything is almost ready. The last step will allow you to use these images while streaming.
Step 3: Create Browser Input
The last step is to integrate your browser with the streaming software you will be using. OBS Studio is the most widely used option and we will be using the same. Follow these steps to make it work:
- Open OBS Studio.
- Click Properties and click Browser.
- Now open Notepad, copy the first URL and paste it into the URL space.
- Select Height and Width as 512 because that is the resolution of your image.
- Click OK to save everything.
You now have a second URL. That second URL is when you’re streaming alone, not in a group call. You must save this URL so you don’t lose it.
Now, whenever you start a broadcast, your avatar will start talking, and thus the goal of Discord Reactive Images is fulfilled.
Remember, for this thing to work, you need to keep OBS open in a browser tab along with Discord. As long as both work great, you’ll love it.
