How to counter Mei in Overwatch 2

Mei is a cunning hero who is difficult to resist; she can be described as a tanky DPS with very useful abilities like cryo freeze and ice wall. Many players who encounter her find it difficult to break her. So here are the heroes you can choose to take on Mei in Overwatch 2.

Winston

Since Mei’s Ice Beam splashes are lethal at short distances, Winston can simply counter this with his jump ability. The same strategy can be used every time an ice wall appears by playing with your barrier projection and using Landing to damage Mei when she starts using Freeze.

Hanzo

The best way to counter Mei is to keep your distance, and what could be better than using one of the best sniper characters in the game? Hanzo’s passive wall-climbing ability and his double jump are great tools against her walls and should be used to get away from her quickly.

Zenyatta

Not only can Zenyatta keep his distance and shoot Mei from all over the map, but his ultimate is also the perfect counter to Mei’s blizzard. A great strategy against Mei is to wait until she freezes herself and charge all of her orbs once the freeze is over.

widowmaker

Widowmaker’s classic sniper build is a great counter to Mei’s melee specialist. Combined with her grappling hook to get her out of tight spaces and a handful of poison mines to keep the random flank at bay, Widowmaker is a strong countermei against Mei.
