If you’re wondering how to merge multiple PDFs on iPhone, we’ve got some quick tricks for you! Let’s start.
How to Merge PDF Files on iPhone and iPad Using the Files App
The native Files app on iPhone and iPad provides built-in scanning, creating, and merging multiple PDF files. Merging PDFs is simple, fast, and secure, but with one drawback: files are merged in numerical or alphabetical order.
However, if you want PDFs to be organized according to your wishes, you will have to rename the documents beforehand. So let’s see how to combine them:
- Open the Files app.
- Navigate to the location where you saved your PDFs in the app. Note. Be sure to save the file in the Files app. Also, if you want to arrange them in a specific order, rename them by long-pressing the file and clicking Rename.
- Now click on the three dots in the top right corner.
- Tap Select.
- Select all the files you want to merge.
- Touch the three dots in the lower right corner.
- Select Create PDF.
You should now see the merged PDF in the exact location. Usually the merged PDF will be visible by the name of the very first PDF you selected when merging the files. However, it will not delete the original PDF files.
This is not it! There is another way to merge PDF files on your iPhone/iPad. Read along.
How to Merge Multiple PDF Files on iPhone Using Shortcuts
You can create a shortcut using the Shortcuts app to merge PDFs. Here’s how:
- Upload this label to your label library to merge PDFs. Note. If you’re having trouble adding a shortcut, go to Settings → Shortcuts → enable “Allow untrusted shortcuts”.
- Now open the Files app and navigate to the location of your PDFs.
- Select the files you want to merge by clicking the three dots in the top right corner.
- Then click the Share icon, scroll up and click Merge PDF.
- Now follow the instructions on the screen and save it.
So, you’re done! You now have a second way to merge your PDFs. You can use any of the methods mentioned above to get the job done.
In addition, there are many free/paid apps that can help you merge PDF files. However, it is highly recommended to use your own Files app or shortcut.
