How to Parry in Resident Evil 4 Remake
Resident Evil 4 Remake will test your combat skills to the limit, so being able to parry is a must. In this survival horror game, you will take the place of American agent Leon S. Kennedy. Your mission is to save the daughter of the President of the United States from a cult-controlled Spanish village. RE veterans know that the enemies in this series are infected and have super strength. However, with the new parry mechanic, you can counter them. In this guide, we will tell you how to counter in RE 4 Remake.
Resident Evil 4 Remake: How to Parry
To parry in Resident Evil 4 Remake, equip yourself with a knife and press (L1, LB or Spacebar) to parry an enemy attack. If you parry the attack at the right time, you can press the suggested button to counter with a melee kick.
If you respond after parrying, Leon will kick the enemy and knock them back. If there are other enemies nearby, they will also fall and take damage. Alternatively, if an enemy is attacking you with a heavy weapon like a chainsaw, make sure you dodge the attack instead of parrying it. Heavy attacks take time to charge, so you will have plenty of time to react.
Tips for Parrying Attacks in RE4 Remake
While this is a basic defense mechanic, mastering it can save you a lot of damage. Here are some tips for parrying in Resident Evil 4 Remake:
- Parry damages your knife, so keep an eye on your weapon circle. You will be in a vulnerable position if the knife breaks in the middle of a fight.
- You can carry multiple knives with you in this game, so make sure you collect every single one of them.
- If you parry an unarmed enemy, Leon will retaliate by chopping off his arm, dealing heavy damage.
- Study the opponent’s attack patterns. Once you’ve done that, try to pull off a perfect parry to hit them back.
- If you’re having trouble timing your parry, keep pressing the button to perform a basic parry.
