How to get the location of Sentinel Pillar in No Man’s Sky

No Man’s Sky, also known as NMS, has added a lot of features when it comes to sentinels, including a sentinel nest known as the Sentinel Pillar. The Guardians were somewhat of a threat, but never too much of a threat. But now the Guardians have been balanced and have received more aggressive behavior and even new weapons for combat. Fighting planetary sentries is now harder than ever. Let’s see how to find Sentinel Pillars.

How to find the location of the Sentinel Pillar in No Man’s Sky

The Sentinel Pillar in No Man’s Sky (NMS) is an ominous structure that can be found on the planet’s surface. They are meant to be used as heavily guarded outposts for local Guardian forces. Interrupting them can reward you with new weapons, knowledge, and more.

There are two main methods for finding Sentinel Pillars:

  • Sentinel Boundary Map Method
  • planetary combat method

Let’s take a detailed look at each method and steps.

Sentinel boundary map method

This method requires reconnaissance on the surface of the planet. You need to find the Guardian’s Borders Map, and these maps can be found by searching Buried Caches. However, this will take some time and luck, as these buried stashes only have a rare chance to drop it, not always.

To find hidden caches, simply use your Analysis Visor and look for the hidden cache icon. These caches will be slightly below the surface and you will have to use the terrain manipulator on your multitool to get to them. Once you find the Guardian’s Borders Map in one of the caches, use it and it will point you to the Guardian’s Pillar in your current system.

planetary combat method

Another way to find Sentinel Pillar in No Man’s Sky is through combat. This method is simple, but more complex than the previous one. All you have to do is choose to fight Guardians on any planet and keep fighting them until you reach the maximum wanted level. Once you finish the last wave of Guardians at max wanted level, you will lose wanted status and gain a Waypoint to the Pillar of Guardians in your current system.

This is how you can find Sentinel Pillars in No Man’s Sky (NMS).
