Knowing how to build a roof can protect your base from certain dangers in Sons of the Forest. And you need to have pillars to support it. But you can’t wander around your cabin with poles all over the place. So here’s how to build a roof without a central beam in Sons of the Forest.
How to build a roof in Sons of the Forest
You will need a lot of logs to make a roof in Sons of the Forest.
- 4 logs for the base
- 5 logs for floor and roof: you have to cut them in half and use 5 log halves to make the floor. And use the other 5 halves of the logs for the roof.
- 4 logs for poles
- 4 logs to connect these pillars
This excludes the walls, you will need a lot more if we add those too.
- Start by placing 4 logs on the ground and connecting them into a square.
- Then cut your logs in half and place them in this square to make the floor.
- Then place 4 logs on each corner of the base in a vertical position.
- Now you need to connect the top ends of these straight logs by placing 4 logs horizontally, again forming a square.
- Finally, place the remaining half of the logs on top of them again to complete the roof.
How to build a roof without a central beam
You can build a roof without a center beam by removing it after the roof is completed.
- Using the method above, make 4 of these bases with roofs that are connected to each other. You will keep some of the logs because many of them will be shared.
- Now interact with the central beam and press C to remove it.
- Now you will have a roof without a central beam.
