How to Rotate Multiple Images in Batch on iPhone, iPad and Mac
Do you have multiple images that need to be rotated? Of course, you can rotate them one at a time, but this can take a long time and become cumbersome after a while. To help, we’ll show you some easy, free, and quick ways to rotate multiple photos at the same time on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Rotate multiple images at once on Mac
Let’s start with the Mac. Also, if you use iCloud Photos on your Apple devices, rotating images in the Photos app on Mac will sync and display on your iPhone and iPad.
Using the Photos app
Follow these steps to rotate multiple images at the same time on Mac:
- Open the Photos app and go to Library or one of the albums.
- Hold down the Command key and select all the images you want to rotate.
- Right-click or Control-click one of the selected images.
- Click Rotate Clockwise.
All selected images will be rotated 90 degrees. You can repeat this process one or two more times to reach your desired level of rotation (180 or 270 degrees).
If you need to go back, press Command + Z to cancel. Or, if you rotate the images a fourth time (90 x 4), it will equal 360 degrees, meaning the photos will be back to how they were.
Advice. The images you want to rotate aren’t in the Photos app? Just drag and drop images from the Finder folder into the Photos app. Or select them in the Finder, right-click while holding down the “Control”key, and choose “Open With”> “Other”> “Photos”> “Open”.
Using Finder Quick Actions
If you’re using the latest version of macOS, such as macOS Monterey or macOS Ventura, you can also follow these steps to rotate multiple images at the same time:
- Go to the Finder folder and select the desired images.
- While holding down the Control key, right-click and select Quick Actions.
- Select Rotate Left.
This will merge all the images you have selected. You can repeat the process to achieve the desired level of rotation.
Note. Unlike the Photos app, rotating images with Quick Actions won’t sync with your other Apple devices because iCloud Photos only works inside the Photos app and on the web.
