How to Check Apple Watch Battery Life in WatchOS 9
When using Apple Watch to track sleep, receive notifications, and complete other daily metrics, you need to keep an eye on battery life. The Apple Watch has a few interesting features that can be called strong, but battery life is not one of them.

How to Check Your Apple Watch Battery Level
Apple has yet to give us a feature to check the battery usage of every app on your watch, and the tech giant only allows you to see the total battery life of your Apple Watch. Here are some ways to do it.
Use Control Center on Apple Watch
- Press the Digital Crown.
- Swipe up from the bottom of the watch face to bring up the Control Center. You can see the percentage of battery remaining.
- Also, you can click on the battery percentage to get the low power mode feature.
Using the Settings app
- Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch.
- Scroll down and tap Battery.
Add Battery Complication to Apple Watch
You can. Also, only some watch faces like Chronograph, Utility, Modular, Color, and Simple let you add battery life limits. Let’s look at the steps:
- Press Digital Crown → touch and hold the watch face.
- Tap Edit → swipe to Complications.
- Select the angle in which you want to see the battery percentage. I’ll choose the top left corner.
- Now, from the available options, select “Battery”in the “MANAGE”section. You can rotate the Digital Crown to quickly view options.
- Now press the Digital Crown twice to return to the watch face.
Note. You can check your battery level at any time by raising your wrist while Always On Display is on on Apple Watch.
How to Check Apple Watch Battery Life from iPhone
Before checking your watch battery, make sure your iPhone and Apple watch are paired. Then follow the methods below to check how much liquid is left in your watch.
Note. You can choose from three different battery widgets in the Today view and on the home screen.
Using the Today View
First you need to add the Battery widget to the Today view. Here’s how:
- To access the Today view, swipe right from the home screen of your paired iPhone.
- Scroll down and click Edit.
- Tap the + icon in the top left corner of the screen.
- In the search bar, type and select Batteries.
- Click Add Widget.
- Click “Done”in the upper right corner of the screen.
The widget displays the battery life of a linked Apple Watch. In addition, the widget also allows you to see if the device is charging. Also, check out our article to learn more about using widgets in Today View.
Using the Battery Widget on iPhone
- Hold an empty area on the home screen.
- Tap the + icon in the top left corner of the screen.
- Find and tap Batteries.
- Click Add Widget.
- Click “Done”in the upper right corner of the screen.
Add battery sophistication to your Apple Watch with the Watch app
- Launch the Clock app → My Watch.
- Touch the name of the watch face.
- Go to the Complications section.
- Select the angle in which you want to see the battery percentage. I choose top left.
- Scroll and tap Battery under MANAGEMENT.
Voila! The changes you make will be reflected on your Apple Watch.
