How to create a list of places in Google Maps on iPhone

Google Maps is a great trip planner because it allows you to save your favorite places and create a custom list from them. In your exquisite collection, you can include places you have visited or places you want to visit and explore in the future. Search listings in Google Maps on iPhone

1. Open the Google Maps app → click Saved.
2. You can now see ready-made lists such as Favorites, Want to Go, Travel Plans, Labeled Places, and Starred Places.

   • Go to Google Maps → Saved.
   • Click New List (+).
   • Name your list and write a description for it so you can remember why you made the list in the first place.
   • Also, choose the privacy settings for your list.
     • Private: If you make the list private, you can only view and edit the list.
     • Shared: Selecting this option allows you and others to view or edit your list.
     • Public: Your list will be published on other Google services such as Maps, Search, or third-party sites with your name and profile photo.
   • Tap Save.
   • Finally, it will create a new list in Google Maps on iPhone.

   Adding Locations to Listings on Google Maps

   Now that you’ve created a new list for yourself, let’s add locations to it.

   • Open Google Maps and find the place you want to explore.
   • Touch a location in the list of search results. You will see the ratings, the number of reviews, as well as the status of opening or closing with the time.
   • Then click “Save”→ select the desired list. By clicking “New List”in the top right corner, you can also create a new list.
   • Finally, click Finish.

   It will return to the location page and show ❤️ Saved in Favorites.

   Alternatively, if you want to add multiple locations to a specific list:

   • Go to Google Maps → Saved.
   • Now select the list to add places.
   • Tap Add.
   • After that, find a place and choose the one you want to explore. It will directly save your favorite places in your list. So just find and tap places to expand your list.

   Suppose you have saved more than 50 points of interest in your Google Maps list. So it’s almost impossible to remember why you saved them in the first place.

   That’s why whenever I save my favorite places on Google Maps, I add a note. Pretty smart, right?

   • Find the location you want and click Save.
   • On the Save to List page, select your list.
   • Click Add a note about this place? and enter a note.
   • Select Done to confirm.

   You can also edit the note later. Here’s how:

   • Go to Saved → open your list.
   • Scroll to find a location → tap Add note below it.
   • Make your changes and select Done.

   You can always change the title or description of your list. In addition, you can delete any unnecessary list. Please note that you cannot edit or delete pre-made listings on Google Maps.

   • Go to Google Maps → Saved. If you have a long list, click More.
   • Select the icon with three dots next to the list name.
   • Click Edit List.
   • Make the necessary changes → tap Save.

   • Go to Google Maps → Saved → tap the three dots icon next to the list name.
   • Follow the same steps as above and select “Share List”from the menu.
   • Turn on the toggle if you want others to change your list.
   • Tap Continue.
   • Now it will open the general sheet. Select the app where you want to share the link. That’s all!

   Control who can edit your shared lists

   Oh! Have you shared your personal lists with others? Don’t worry. You can return it back at any time. Also, it allows you to remove edit access for people. This way you have full control over your lists of places.

   • Open the Google Maps app → Saved → tap on the three dots icon next to your listing.
   • Tap Sharing Options.
   • Now you can convert the public list back to private. Or make it public if you want someone to be able to find and subscribe to your list.
     • If you have enabled the Allow others to edit your list option, you can (+) invite editors from here.
     • To remove all current editors, disable this option.

   How to subscribe to a list by link

   When you start following a list others have created, their saved places will show up as suggested places on Google Maps.

   • Click on the link you received.
   • Now a popup will ask if you want to become an editor or just want to view the list. Select View only.
   • Then tap on the three dots icon in the top right corner.
   • Select Follow List. Go back to your saved pages to see all your listings. Scroll down. You will find lists that you follow.

   If you want to unsubscribe from the list, tap Saved → tap the list you want to unsubscribe from → select Unsubscribe.

   Hide or remove a listing in Google Maps

   • Go to Google Maps → Saved → tap on the three dots icon next to your list name.
   • Select Hide on map.
