How to become stronger at the beginning of Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy has a lot of magical gameplay elements and mechanics for players to explore. But players starting their expedition with Professor Fig have a long learning curve to go through. This left several players wondering if they could get powerful spells, equipment, and traits early on. Before we begin, the answer to this question is no. But there are several ways to develop your character at Hogwarts early on. With some help, your character will quickly master and cast complex spells or curses. So, check out our guide on how to get Overpowered Early in Hogwarts Legacy to find out.

How to become stronger at the beginning of Hogwarts Legacy

We’ve put together a few tips and tricks to help players get the edge early in the game. So, here are a few tips to keep in mind as you start exploring Hogwarts Legacy:

  • Focus on talent
  • Look for chests
  • Fully upgrade an Alohomora spell
  • Head to the battle arenas
  • Selecting the characteristics of the ideal equipment

Now let’s dive into these suggested tips to get the edge at the start of Hogwarts Legacy.

Focus on talent

Talents play one of the most important factors in the development of various character builds in Hogwarts Legacy. You will unlock talents at the start of the game once you complete Jackdaw’s Rest quest. There are a total of 48 different types of talents that you can unlock for your character. But since your level cap is 40, you can only spend 35 talent points. You must choose wisely which talents you are going to spend your talent points on. While you can replace a talent with another, you cannot cancel or change talent points. So choose them wisely. We suggest focusing on various talent masteries to deal significant damage.

Look for chests in Hogwarts Legacy

There are many collection chests, disappointment chests, and treasure vaults scattered throughout the open world. These chests can reward you with gold galleons, gear, and other loot. If you are looking for easy money, we recommend collecting ornate or open chests. Each open chest will bring you 500 gold galleons. Thus, it is a great way to make money quickly and buy more gear. We also suggest paying attention to the legendary chests, as they always contain legendary equipment. This can help you earn XP and level up faster in Hogwarts Legacy. If you can’t find the chests, don’t forget to cast the Revelio spell.

Fully upgrade an Alohomora spell

Speaking of chests, there are several locked doors and chests scattered around the open world. Once you unlock the Alohomora spell, you will be able to unlock them and collect loot. You can complete the Caretaker’s Lunar Lament quest to unlock this spell. But since there are different levels in the blocked area, you will have to upgrade the Alohomora spell levels. We suggest focusing on fully upgrading Alohomor’s spell to level 3. This will allow you to access all restricted areas and become stronger in the Hogwarts Legacy.

Head to the battle arenas

As the name suggests, battle arenas are various special areas or locations in Hogwarts Legacy. In total, two battle arenas are available to players. But if you bought the deluxe version, you will also have access to the Dark Arts Battle Arena. Here you can also practice the dark arts and unforgivable curses against your enemies. You have to fight different waves of enemies and bosses that bring different rewards upon completion. These battles are good if you want to farm XP. In addition to this, these battles also allow you to practice various spells against your enemies.

Selecting the characteristics of the ideal equipment

Speaking of traits, these are buffs or boosts that can be applied to your gear. You can complete various tasks that reward you with different traits of your equipment. If you want to become an OP early on, we recommend meshing for certain traits. What you need to do is to choose those traits that enhance these spells and help you during the fight. For example, if you’re great at Confringo, you should choose the Destruction feat for your gear. This will greatly increase the damage of Confringo’s spell. At the same time, choose traits that will reward you with bonuses and deal increased damage to your enemies.

There are three levels for these traits, and you can level them up using various crafting materials. But just like with talents, you can’t remove traits from your gear. Although you can replace it with another trait, we recommend choosing them wisely. If you can’t add them to your gear, check out our guide on how to add traits to gear for more information.
