How to Remove the App Library Icon from Your iPad’s Dock in iPadOS 15
The App Library is a very useful feature, but its presence in the iPad dock can be overwhelming. Here’s how to make its icon disappear in iPadOS 15.
In 2020, Apple introduced the App Library, a separate page on the Home screen that organizes apps into separate groups, making them easier to find. This is a pretty useful feature for those who have a lot of apps and/or want to be well organized, but if you already have all the apps you want on your home screen, you won’t be able to use this app library quite often.
In fact, you might think that having this library icon in the dock, introduced in iPadOS 15, is unnecessary and therefore annoying. And, unlike other apps, it’s not possible to remove the app library icon with a simple tap. Fortunately, the operating system still allows it to disappear.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to remove the App Library icon from your iPad’s Dock in iPadOS 15.
How to Remove the App Library Icon from Your iPad’s Dock in iPadOS 15
On an iPad running iPadOS 15, simply go to Settings on the Home screen and the Dock section.
There, in the Dock, just turn off Show App Library in Dock.
Once this is done, the app library icon will disappear from the dock. Don’t worry, you can still access this feature by swiping left on the home screen to bring it up. You can also use the search feature by swiping down from anywhere on the home screen to enter the name of the app you’re looking for if you’re not too fond of the app library.
Note that it’s also possible to turn off the “Show Recommended and Recent Apps in the Dock”setting to make it even more “tidy”.
