How to dodge, block and counter in Dead Island 2
Knowing how to dodge or block zombie attacks can help you survive longer in Dead Island 2. These are very basic but essential skills that can make or break your gaming experience in many cases. And if you manage to stun them, then you will even make a counterattack to deal a lot of damage to these zombies. So, without further ado, here is how you can use these skills in this game.
How to dodge or block in Dead Island 2
You can dodge by pressing the L1 button on the PlayStation controller. Xbox players can do the same by pressing LB. This button allows you to use a defense skill card. But you can’t start dodging enemy attacks right after you start playing, you need to unlock this skill first. Evasion is an Ability skill card that you unlock after Emma cuffs you.
It is very easy to use, when you press the button your character will quickly move a short distance in the direction you are moving. By default, pressing the button will cause you to make a small dash forward. But using the left stick will allow you to move in the direction you choose while dodging.
You can block in the same way you dodge, i.e. using your defense skill card. Blocking is harder than dodging. This is because unlike dodging when you’re moving away from your enemies, whenever you block, it’s easier for the zombie horde to attack you.
How to counter
It’s pretty easy to counter in this game. You just need to dodge or block just before the enemy attack is about to connect. This will briefly stun them, giving you a button hint. You can then press the “Square”or “X”button to counter your target. If they are low on health, you can even finish them off with this attack.
