How to back up your Mac

Because you’re about to try Developer Beta 4, you might find bugs and other issues. Thus, it is advisable to make a backup so that your data remains safe and sound. Also, you can upgrade to macOS Big Sur if you run into issues during the update or later.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Connect an external hard drive or SSD to your Mac.
  2. Click the Apple icon → select System Preferences.
  3. Here, select Time Machine → click “Select Backup Drive”to select the drive.
  4. Click “Use Disk”to start the process; It is recommended that you check the box next to “Encrypt backups”before proceeding.
  5. Check the “Show time machine”box in the menu bar.
  6. Now select the Time Machine icon from the top menu bar → choose Back Up Now.

How to download macOS Ventura Developer Beta 2

  1. Visit developer.apple.com and open the Discover tab.
  2. Select macOS → click Download.
  3. Sign in with developer account credentials if prompted.
  4. To download the latest macOS Ventura Developer Beta 4, click Install Profile.
  5. Open Downloads (or the folder where the folder’s files are saved by default).
  6. Double-click the macOSDeveloperBetaAccessUtility.dmg file to open it.
  7. Then double-click the macOSDeveloperBetaAccessUtility.pkg file to launch the installer.
  8. In the window that appears, click Continue, accept the terms and conditions → click Install.
  9. Follow the onscreen instructions to install macOS Developer Beta 4.

You should now see the software update screen. If not, click the Apple logo → System Preferences → Software Update.

You’ll see the macOS 13.3 Ventura Developer Beta 4 variant here; click Update now. Depending on your internet speed, the download may take some time.

Note. If you don’t see the update window, restart your computer and visit the Software Update section again.

How to install macOS 13.3 Ventura Developer Beta 2

Now, after backing up your data and installing the Beta 4 profile, it’s time to finally install the macOS 13.3 Developer Beta 4. Because you installed the Beta 4 installer, a prompt window will prompt you to begin the installation process.

  1. Click Continue.
  2. Select “Accept Apple Terms of Use”.
  3. Click Install. You may need to free up space for installation.

  1. Once the download is complete, click “Continue”on the installation window.
  2. Click “Agree”and confirm.
  3. Now click “Show All Drives”and select the partition.

Getting Started with macOS Ventura Developer Beta 4 on Mac

Once the installation is complete, your Mac will reboot with a brand new macOS Ventura. But before you can learn a new OS, here are a few steps you need to follow first.

  1. Click Continue.
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID and password and allow iCloud to sync your data and other information.
  3. Click “Start”.
