Carl Pei didn’t reveal the launch date of Nothing Phone (1) on Twitter? Here’s what we expect
A month ago, Nothing confirmed that they are working on a phone they call the Nothing Phone (1) that will be released this summer. The company hasn’t confirmed any specs for the device as they like to keep things interesting. The company recently released Nothing Launcher on the Play Store for select smartphones.
Carl Pei, the founder of Nothing, seems to have confirmed the launch date for Nothing Phone (1). Although the company has already confirmed that it will release the phone in the summer, Pei’s latest tweet gives us more details on the smartphone’s launch date.
Nothing Phone (1) June 9 launch?
Carl Pei, the founder of Nothing, responded to a user request for a launch date for the smartphone on Twitter. Pei responded with the text “6/9 at 4:20”, which could be the launch date of the smartphone. Now if you go by date it could be June 9th according to the US date format. We’re guessing that Nothing Phone (1) will launch on June 9th as the company has teased that it will release the device in the summer.
But we know how Carl loves to keep things exciting, not simple. So it was unexpected of him to announce a launch date just in response to a tweet. We expect the company to create more buzz around its first smartphone.
We also expect Nothing Phone (1) to launch in India shortly after the global launch as Nothing has partnered with Flipkart for their product. Ear of Nothing (1) was also launched in India right after the global launch.
What to expect from Nothing Phone (1)?
The company has not confirmed anything about the device except that it will have a Nothing OS launcher based on Android 12 and a Qualcomm chipset. The specs of the device have been leaked in the past and it is expected to feature a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate support.
The device will apparently be powered by the Snapdragon 778G SoC, which will be paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Nothing Phone (1) may come with a 50MP main camera, an 8MP secondary camera that could be an ultra-wide angle lens, and a 2MP camera that would likely be a depth or macro lens. For selfies and video calls, the device may have a 32-megapixel camera. It is said to pack in a 4500mAh battery with support for wireless charging as well as support for reverse wireless charging.
