OnePlus 10 Ultra concept leaked, revealing its potential design
A concept rendering of the OnePlus 10 Ultra smartphone has leaked online, giving us our first glimpse of what the upcoming flagship smartphone could look like. The company has already launched the OnePlus 10 Pro smartphone in China and its global launch is expected sometime in March. Now, ahead of its global launch, concept renders of its more premium variant, dubbed the OnePlus 10 Ultra, have surfaced online.
OnePlus 10 Ultra: Key features expected
Among the key aspects to look out for is its main rear camera module, which appears to feature a 5x telephoto lens. The smartphone is expected to be very similar to the OnePlus 10 Pro, which has already been launched in China, except for a few minor changes. Among those changes is a camera unit that can offer a wider optical zoom range than the “Pro”variant. Other camera specs, including the 48MP main camera and 50MP ultra-wide camera, should also remain unchanged on the Ultra variant.
Another key change in the Ultra variant is the chipset that powers the device, which is rumored to be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 “Plus”. The latter has yet to be officially unveiled and is expected to become official in the coming weeks. The chipset is a slightly upgraded version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC used in the OnePlus 10 Pro and can provide additional performance.
Among other features, the OnePlus 10 Ultra can use Oppo’s new MariSilicon X Neural Processing Unit (NPU) to drive image processing algorithms. OnePlus is expected to continue using its Hasselblad brand on its cameras this year, and it remains to be seen how the partnership has evolved. When the latter was unveiled with the OnePlus 9 series, the companies said they would be working in a multi-year partnership to develop their smartphone camera technology.
OnePlus is increasingly partnering with its brand mate Oppo for a range of branding and services. Along with looking for tighter integration of their custom Android software, Oppo has also suggested using the Hasselblad branding on their flagship phones.
