For those who don’t know, Lilith plays an important role in lore and this article will tell you how to do it.

Who is Lilith in Diablo 4?

Lilith is the daughter of Mephisto, Lord of Hatred and one of the One Evil. She is also the sister of Lucion, the leader of the Triune during the Sin War. In the shrine, she is known as the Succubus Queen. Her alliance with Inarius, a former archangel, led to the creation of humanity and Nepalem.

Lilith’s story in Diablo

Tired of the eternal war between the Burning Hells and the High Heavens, Lilith was looking for a way out. She, along with her brother, got tired of leading the hell of the One Evil (Diablo, Baal and Mephisto). In the battle with heaven, she captured the archangel Inarius. When she learned that Inarius’s views on eternal war matched her own, Lilith saw him as someone she could manipulate.

Creation of the Sanctuary

Over time, Inarius fell in love with Lilith. Knowing this, she asked him to steal the World Stone in order to create a new world where they could live in peace. The two gathered like-minded followers and stole the World Stone from Pandemonium Fortress. With this stone, they created a new world between Heaven and Hell known as the Sanctuary. Inarius was pleased with this new world, but Lilt wanted to end the eternal war.

Creation of the Nephalem

After the creation of the Sanctuary, Inarius and Lilith gave birth to the Nephalem, the first race of descendants from the union of an Angel and a Demon. The followers of Lilith and Inarius living in the Sanctuary viewed the Nephalem as a threat. As a result, they argued whether the Nephalem should be destroyed.

Inarius forced his followers to see clearly and avoid conflict. On the other hand, Lilith was furious with her followers. She assumed demonic form and killed the followers of Inarius and others bent on destroying the Nephalem.

Seeing the carnage Lilith left behind, Inarius vowed to stop it. However, he could not kill her, so he banished her from the Sanctuary to the Void.

Return of Lilith

After years of exile, Elias and two other adventurers performed a ritual in an underground room to summon Lilith. The presence of Lilith caused paranoia in mortals. At some point, she took control of Hell, where she reunited with Inarius, but on the opposite side in battle.
