MacBook Air M1 gets price hike in India, now available for Rs 99,900

Apple at WWDC introduced the new Apple MacBook Air and Apple MacBook Pro, powered by its own M2 chip. The brand will continue to sell the latest generation MacBook Air, i.e. the MacBook Air M1, alongside the new MacBook Air M2. While people expected the price of the MacBook Air M1 to drop after this launch, Apple decided to raise the price of the existing MacBook Air M1.

The base variant of the Apple MacBook Air M1, which launched at Rs 92,900 in November 2020, has received a Rs 7,000 price increase. Additionally, Apple is no longer giving customers the option to choose an 8-core GPU for the latest generation MacBook Air, so users will have to consider the MacBook Air M2 if they want to use the 8-core GPU.

Apple has raised the price of the base variant (8GB + 256GB) of the MacBook Air M1 and it will now be priced at Rs 99,900, a significant price increase of 7.5%. The 8GB + 512GB variant of the MacBook Air M1 (with 7-core GPU) is now priced at Rs 1,19,900. For those who don’t know, the 8GB + 512GB laptop variant (with 8-core GPU) was launched for Rs 1,17,900.

Apple MacBook Air M1: specifications and features

The MacBook Air M1 features a 13.3-inch True Tone Retina display with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels, a pixel density of 227 ppi, and a brightness of 400 nits. Under the hood, the laptop is powered by Apple’s Mq octa-core chipset, which includes a 7-core GPU, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 2TB of onboard storage.

The latest generation of MacBook Air features a 49.9 Wh battery with up to 15 hours of battery life. A 30W Type-C charger is used to charge the laptop. It has 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The MacBook Air M1 features stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos audio. For face-to-face and video calls, it offers a 720p webcam and a triple microphone setup. The MacBook Air M1 is eligible for the macOS Ventura update.
