macOS 12.3 makes some Macs completely unusable
macOS 12.3 makes some Macs unusable. It is better to wait before using the universal command.
Software updates are most often a very good thing. Some are even eagerly awaited by users because they bring their fair share of new features and other fixes. Unfortunately, despite testing and quality control processes, it may happen that some of these new versions contain new bugs. The consequences can be varied, from a simple display problem to the presence of an unusable third-party feature. But in the most severe cases, the entire application stops working, or worse, the entire machine. Here’s what looks like it could happen with the release of macOS 12.3.
macOS 12.3 makes some Macs unusable
Indeed, some Mac owners have reported that the latest macOS 12.3 is causing more problems than it solves. From several posts on Apple’s Reddit forums, we learn that many users are reporting that this update ended up making their computer completely unusable. In some cases, even the replacement of the motherboard was required.
It’s better to wait before using the universal command
According to various sources, it seems that only the new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros with the M1 chip are victims of this error. The Cupertino-based company hasn’t reported this yet, but with customer support already replacing motherboards in the most serious cases, there’s little reason Apple brand engineers are aware of this and are already working on a fix.
Until then, although it may indeed be tempting to install macOS 12.3 – this version finally brings a long awaited feature and very useful in everyday life, if you have other Apple devices, the universal command – try to wait a little longer, time for the official integration of the patch. You don’t want to end up with a completely unusable Mac.
