Google’s Magic Eraser is finally available on Android and iOS
Google’s Magic Eraser is perhaps one of the giant’s most impressive features. And now everyone can enjoy it, even on iOS.
Google’s Magic Eraser is perhaps one of the giant’s most impressive features. Being able to erase anything and everything from a photo with just one click… a significant everyday superpower! This feature was originally exclusive to the Pixel, but today Mountain View is opening it up to everyone if you’re willing to lay your hand on your wallet.
What is a magic eraser?
The Magic Eraser is a feature that alone can sell a smartphone. Launched in 2021, it detects elements that look out of place in a photo and recommends removing them if necessary. If you agree to this recommendation, the items will disappear as if by magic.
Sometimes the system does not determine everything, and you can always act manually. It’s simple and damn effective. The software can also predict the pixels that would be present if the elements weren’t there, giving the impression that they never existed. There’s also a “Camouflage”option that changes the color of certain objects to blend in with the background.
How to get a magic eraser on your smartphone
The Magic Eraser was exclusive to the Pixel for a while. But lately everyone can enjoy it. If you have a Pixel, Galaxy, OnePlus, or iPhone, you can get it if you pay!
Indeed, the magic eraser is part of a Google One subscription, a subscription offered through Google Photos. And it offers other great features like HDR post-processing for videos, the ability to style individual photos in the collage tool, and free shipping on photo print orders.
Google One also offers cloud storage (starting at 100GB), Portrait Light and Portrait Blur tools on Google Photos, a 10% discount on Google Store purchases, and a 3-month YouTube Premium trial. Count €1.99 per month for 100GB (Basic), €2.99 for 200GB (Standard), or €9.99 for 2TB (Premium). The latter also offers, among others, VPNs and improvements to Google Meet.
And if you don’t want to pay, Google offers a one-month free trial of Google One if you’ve never had a chance to try it before.
