Google is bringing Magic Eraser and other Photos features to older Pixel smartphones. Google One subscribers are also eligible.
Google has decided to bring some of the photo features that have so far been exclusive to the latest Pixel smartphones to more devices. This applies in particular to Magic Eraser, a tool that allows you to easily erase people or objects in an image, which was introduced in 2021 on the Pixel 6. There is also a feature called Camouflage that allows you to change the color of objects so that they blend more. with the rest of the image and help highlight other elements.
Google is adding Magic Eraser and other Photo features to older Pixel phones.
For now, Google is making the Magic Eraser available for the Pixel 5a and all other devices in the range. The same goes for Google One. In the coming weeks, Google One subscribers, regardless of the offer, will have access to Magic Eraser through Google Photos, even on iOS. However, these editing features are not available in the Google Photos web app. Which is pretty sad.
All Google Pixel smartphone models and Google One subscribers also get access to the HDR effect. This can be applied to videos to enhance brightness and contrast. This feature was already available for photos. Also, anyone with an older Pixel device or a Google One subscription will now be eligible for more styles (ID – design) in the Google Photos collage editor.
Google One subscribers are also eligible
The fact that Google is offering its Magic Eraser and other Photos features to Google One subscribers and old Pixel owners is ultimately not very surprising. Mountain View even has a habit of doing this, rolling out their new tools on the latest generation of devices before integrating them elsewhere.
At the same time, Google is offering One subscribers in certain countries a new benefit. If you live in the United States, Canada, the European Union, or the United Kingdom, you can enjoy free shipping on photo print orders.
