Mammoth, GoLinks, ClearSpace and more apps to try this weekend
Welcome to another edition of our Apps of the Week review, where we highlight some of our favorite newly discovered apps and games. We’ve got some great options this week, including the all-in-one Mastodon client, a quick save and share app, and an app to help you stop compulsive phone use. And, as always, we have selected a great game for you.
Mammoth: for the mastodon
If you find yourself looking for an alternative to Elon Musk’s new world of Twitter, you can check out this client for the social networking site Mastodon. It’s called Mammoth and it’s a very feature rich app that lets you do everything from signing up for a new account to setting up your profile. All your favorite Twitter features are here: timelines, streams, images, and pinned posts. There are even custom themes!
GoLinks
GoLinks is the fastest way to access, share and save information on the go. Stay productive and informed by connecting to apps and resources anywhere you work with short, memorable GoLink links you can create and access on desktop and mobile devices. To be honest, when I chose this application, I thought it was more for personal use – for example, Pocket meets shortcuts or something like that. This is clearly not the case, but I leave it here in the hope that it will still be useful to someone.
ClearSpace: less screen time
Welcome to ClearSpace sounds like a sci-fi movie about a company that erases bad memories. “Welcome to ClearSpace.”Either way, this is actually a very smart and ambitious app that hopes to help you get rid of compulsive phone use. This way you tell ClearSpace which app you want to use less frequently and it will interfere every time you try to use it. When you open this app, you will be prompted to make an intentional decision to continue (after taking a deep breath) or quit. There’s a lot more, but you get the idea. By the way, I just want you to know that I understand the irony of having an app that is meant to help you stop using apps on the app news roundup.
Duel of street fighters
Enter the world of Street Fighter like never before with the franchise’s first mobile RPG, Street Fighter: Duel. Assemble and upgrade a team of iconic fighters and fight in the original story, or take on friends and strong opponents around the world. To be clear, this is not your standard Street Fighter arcade game, but an RPG with some PVP elements and all your favorite characters from the franchise. Looks like a great game to try this weekend!
