These new creations are fueling the market for premium but more affordable 5G smartphones than flagships that can take advantage of the Dimensity 9000 line. The goal here is to offer “flagship features”at a slightly lower price point for smartphones. 700 dollars.
From a technical standpoint, the Dimensity 8000 chip is a 5nm engraved octa-core SoC (4 A78 and 4 A55) quite capable of supporting complex computing. MediaTek announces that this Dimensity 8000 chip should compete with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip in terms of performance. When it comes to efficiency, he seems to be even better. We will have to wait for the first independent tests, but on paper this is what we really want.
For a new segment from 400 to 700 dollars.
This new line of processors is also compatible with sensors up to 200 MP, which means it will be possible to take simultaneous shots with a combination of a 108 MP sensor and weaker sensors. This is a recurring request today, especially from TikTokers and other vloggers.
MediaTek is best known for being featured on smartphones under $400. This offer for the $400-700 segment could help the company increase its market share, especially in Asia and Europe. Recently, MediaTek’s share of the Android smartphone market has increased significantly. The company even claims the title of number 1 in terms of the number of units. And since MediaTek’s chips are used in its very popular devices like the Samsung Galaxy A or the Motorola G Pure, this is not very surprising.
The launch of this Dimensity 8000 range is timely as users are paying more attention than ever to value for money.
