Apple event set for March 8, new iPhone SE and other products expected

Apple has confirmed its first major event of 2022. The company will host a new Apple event on March 8. The company is expected to announce several new products at this event. The company didn’t reveal exact details in the “Peek Performance”launch invite. However, the rumor mill has hinted at some things in the past. One of the new products launching on March 8 could be the new iPhone SE 5G.

Apple may also unveil a new iPad Air at the event alongside the new iPhone SE 5G. In addition to this, we may see an update to the Mac mini with support for the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips. Let’s see what to expect from Apple’s upcoming event.

Apple Event March 8

Apple’s event, which will be held on March 8, is called Peek Performance. The event will be held almost without the presence of the media. Apple is expected to announce the new iPhone SE 5G. It will have the same design as the iPhone SE 2020. This means it will have a 4.7-inch display on the front with thick bezels at the top and bottom. The device will also have a home button for the Touch ID sensor.

There have been rumors that Apple may update the design and release the iPhone SE 5G with a notch at the top of the display. Then the phone can have a 6.1-inch screen. However, most rumors suggest that Apple will stick with a 4.7-inch display this year.

The new iPhone will get 5G network support, as the nickname suggests. It will be equipped with the latest A15 chip if not slightly older A14 chip to support 5G network. On the back, there will be one 12-megapixel camera or an 8-megapixel sensor.

Along with the iPhone, the new iPad Air could also be unveiled at the event. Most of the changes are likely to happen under the hood. It will be equipped with a faster chip that will also provide 5G connectivity. As expected from the Air line, it can be presented in several colors. The event also features the Apple logo in multiple colors, further hinting at the launch of the iPad Air.

Apple may also release a new Mac mini M1 Pro/M1 Max. The new chips were announced late last year along with the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. More details should appear online as we get closer to launch.
