Meta Quest Pro, the premium evolution of VR in Meta

Meta is committed to a more social and future-oriented virtual reality with Quest Pro.

Scheduled for October 25 at a price of €1,799.99, Meta’s Quest Pro is the first VR headset in a new line of cutting-edge products designed to enhance the virtual and mixed reality experience. Its lightweight folding lenses reduce the size of the helmet for a clearer image. A new curved rear battery helps make the Meta Quest Pro a more balanced and ergonomic headset overall. Outward-facing high-resolution cameras capture four times as many pixels as the Meta Quest 2 and make the Meta Quest Pro the first full-color mixed reality device.

Meta Quest Pro unlocks Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 1

The Snapdragon XR2+ platform has been redesigned for better heat dissipation and significant headroom, resulting in a 50% increase in continuous power and a 30% improvement in thermal performance. Each Meta Quest Pro comes with 12GB of RAM, 256GB of internal storage, and 10 high-resolution sensors, five inside the headset and five outside, to help expand your immersive experience. The Meta Quest Touch Pro controllers are powered by the Snapdragon 662 platform, allowing them to self-track with multiple built-in position cameras and deliver ultra-low latency to the headset.

Mark Rabkin, Head of Virtual Reality at Meta’s Reality Labs, said:

At Meta, we are building the next generation computing platform with our virtual and mixed reality devices. We believe that VR and RM will radically change the way we work, collaborate and communicate with each other, and we are excited to join Qualcomm Technologies on this journey. This innovative next-generation Snapdragon technology greatly increases the processing power of our VR device, allowing us to provide a much richer experience with Meta Quest Pro. This is proof that Meta and Qualcomm Technologies are building the future together today.

Microsoft has partnered with Meta to bring Teams, Office, Windows, and Xbox to Quest Pro.

Microsoft sees an opportunity to boost productivity with a high-performance VR headset, and Meta is becoming a key partner in its broader metaverse plan. Teams features in Meta Quest Pro include Microsoft’s adaptation of the Meta avatar system for Teams and support for Teams in Meta Horizon workrooms. The virtual office of the future will not be limited to meetings. Microsoft is bringing Windows 365 to Meta’s Quest Pro, the company’s platform for delivering full versions of Windows to devices.

Microsoft also provides 2D versions of its Office applications to Quest Pro through Progressive Web Apps (PWA) technology. These will not be full-fledged 3D versions of Office designed for virtual reality. Xbox Cloud Gaming will also be available on Meta VR Quest headsets, allowing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to stream games. It won’t be as immersive as native VR for Xbox games, but it will be possible to grab an Xbox controller and play on a giant screen projected inside the Quest headset.
