Microsoft shows watermark on machines not officially compatible with Windows 11

Windows 11 displays a watermark on computers that aren’t officially compatible, a subtle but very relevant reminder.

If you want to be able to enjoy Windows 11 on your PC, your machine must meet a certain number of hardware criteria. Otherwise, it doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t use Windows 11 at all, but chances are that the experience on offer won’t be the best. This is even more true if your car is getting older.

Windows 11 shows watermark on machines not officially supported

Today it appears that Microsoft is going one step further by reminding its users that their PC is not fully compatible with Windows 11. As it turns out, the Redmond-based firm is now displaying a watermark in the lower right corner of the screen on computers that are not officially Windows 11 compatible.

This watermark is intended to remind users that they are running Windows 11 on an unsupported PC. That being said, the watermark is quite small, it shouldn’t be (too) noticeable in everyday life, but the mere fact of having it is enough to annoy and annoy users who would like to be able to use their machine normally.

An unobtrusive reminder, but very relevant

Also, keep in mind that the watermark in question does not restrict the use of Windows and/or applications in any way, it is just a reminder. In other words, if you think you can pretend it doesn’t exist every day, that’s not a problem. For users who are really worried, it should be possible to remove this watermark from the registry, but the operation is quite delicate, we cannot recommend it to those who do not know exactly what they are doing.

In any case, let’s hope that Microsoft doesn’t go any further, we don’t have to come in and, so to speak, “disguise”users by multiplying operations of this kind to further push the adoption of this version.
