Minecraft: What is a cherry tree? (explanation)

With the release of update 1.20, a lot of unique items, mobs, trees and content have been added to Minecraft. One of them includes the new Cherry Blossom biome in a recent update. As you explore its beauty, you will also find a cherry forest around the biome. Speaking of which, several players blink their eyes at the beautiful Cherry Forest. What is a Cherry Tree in Minecraft

As mentioned earlier, Cherry Blossom wood or simply Cherry Wood is the newest type of wood added in the Minecraft 1.20 update. This type of wood can be dropped from Cherry Blossom trees. You can find cherry trees in Cherry Blossom Grove biomes in Minecraft. These biomes are usually located near snowy mountains and hills. Thanks to their bright pink color, these trees are easy to spot from afar.

These types of trees come in two varieties: pink and white cherry trees. You can collect cherry tree saplings to plant them in a place convenient for you. But note that these trees require a 5×5 area with 9 blocks above the sapling to grow.

How to use them

Cherry trees drop Cherry Trees that can be used for various purposes in Minecraft. Like most types of wood, you can use cherry wood to decorate your homes. But along with that, you can also use the Cherry Tree to get or craft the following items:

• Cherry Leaves: You can craft these with the Scissors tool.
• Cherry Log: You can craft this with any tool, including your hands.
• Cherry Planks: You can craft these planks by placing a Cherry Log into the crafting grid in your inventory.
• Cherry Sapling: You can break the leaves to get their sapling.
• Butchered Cherry Log: You can create a log by using an ax on a cherry log.
• Luke: You can create it by placing two adjacent rows of cherry planks.
• Hanging Sign: You can create this by placing two rows of cherry tree logs and placing two chains on top of them.
• Sign: You can create it by placing two adjacent rows of cherry planks and inserting a stick in between them in the middle.
