Minecraft: Horse Breeding Guide

Step One: Breed tame horses

You’ll need to initially acquire two or more horses if you don’t currently have them for breeding. Horses often spawn in groups of two to six, thus you only need to discover one herd for this mission. If, though, you’re only interested in one of the 35 color options or a horse with a certain set of stats, you might need to look a little more.

In the biomes of the Plains and Savanna, horses can be seen in herds. You don’t have to worry about being assaulted because they are friendly mobs as well. However, you will need to mount your horse in order to tame it.
Once tamed, finish the process by fitting a saddle. Continue doing this for each horse you want to breed.

Step Two: Purchase some horse food

You’ll need to gather a few essential supplies to get the process started in Minecraft before you can start breeding your horses. These things consist of:

  • Golden apples
  • Enchanted golden apples
  • Golden carrots

Even though you won’t need all three, any two of these will do. These materials can be found in the Overworld as chest loot, but if you have the ability to create them, it will be quicker.

Place an apple on your crafting table and eight gold ingots around it to create golden apples and enchanted golden apples. Similar to making golden carrots, placing a carrot on your crafting table will require you to surround it with eight gold nuggets.

Given this, many people would think that making a golden carrot is more simpler because it ends up being less expensive.

Step Three: Aliment and breed

You can finally start breeding your horses if you have food to feed them. Start by giving each of your two desired horses one half of the fruit you’ve chosen.

Your horses will become ready to reproduce after doing this, as shown by the hearts that will light up above them. Then a foal will spawn shortly after.
