In this article, we will teach you how to build a safe fireplace in your Minecraft home.
How to build a fireplace in Minecraft
As we mentioned earlier, building a fireplace in Minecraft can be tricky. You can burn yourself or the house if it is built incorrectly. You can build any fireplace you want once you learn the basics. And this is what we will teach you.
Materials needed to build a fireplace
To build a fireplace, you will need three things:
- Non-combustible blocks (for fireplace surround)
- Flint & Steel to light the fire
- Fuel for the fire
You can use some flammable blocks to create fire, but they won’t last long. We suggest you use Netherrack as it can burn forever.
To build a fireplace:
- Choose the location where you want the fireplace. We’ll build one against the wall, but you can build it anywhere.
- Place the ladder and upside down ladder against the wall on either side of the fireplace.
- Place the stone slabs over the upside down stairs. This will be the firebox.
- Break the wall behind the fireplace to make holes for the Netherrack.
- Place the Void in the fireplace and set it on fire.
- Build a cobblestone (or any other rock) behind it to hide the fire.
- Go back to the hearth and place the iron grate around it.
- Relax and unwind in front of your warm and crackling fireplace.
Where to find the Void
Netherrak is found in abundance in the Nether. It can also be found in drops under the destroyed portal. We suggest you use a high-performance pickaxe (level 3).
How to get Flint and Steel
- The fastest way to get flint is to mine gravel.
- There is a 10% chance of flint dropping when mining gravel.
- You can upgrade your tool to increase your chances of getting flint.
- We suggest you enchant your tool with Fortune 3 as there is a chance to get flint.
- You will also need steel and flint to light the fire.
- You will need to mine iron, which can be found underground, and some cobblestone for a furnace.
- You can create a furnace at a workbench.
- Place the iron and some fuel in the furnace to melt the iron.
- Once you have an iron ingot, place it in your 2×2 crafting inventory and place the flint in front of it.
And here it is. You can use it to light a fire in a fireplace.
We hope this fireplace has helped you bring a new aesthetic to your Minecraft home. If you are looking for a cozy home, then a pet is a good choice. For more helpful Minecraft guides, check out our Minecraft section.
