Minecraft Stray Wiki: Everything you need to know

Minecraft Strays are a variant of the skeletons that spawn around ice biomes in the overworld. Although they look like skeletons, they have a few other aspects that make them more deadly mobs. When Hostile, they wield bows and shoot tipped arrows from a distance. But where to find the Rogue? What do these mobs drop and how do they behave? Check out our guide to learn all about roaming mobs.

Minecraft Stray Spawn – what do you need to create them?

You need to keep a skeleton inside loose snow to spawn a hobo in Minecraft. When you hold a skeleton inside Powder Snow for 7 seconds, it starts to shake. Give it another 15 seconds, the skeleton will become roaming. You don’t have to worry about his health as he will spawn at full health. Even if the skeleton you saved wasn’t fully healthy, the Rogue will spawn with full health.

In addition, the items worn by the previous skeleton remain unchanged. The vagrant has his own summon egg in his inventory and can spawn in many biomes. These mobs can spawn on snowy plains, frozen rivers, and ice spikes under the sky, replacing 80% of skeletons. In Bedrock Edition, Rogues appear exclusively in the Frozen Oceans, Deep Frozen Oceans, and Frozen Oceans of the Past.

What are they dropping

  • Rogues in Minecraft drop 0 to 2 bones, 0 to 2 arrows, and 0 to 1 slow arrows when you defeat them.
  • You can increase your chances of getting from 0 to 5 bones and arrows with Looting III. To do this, increase your looting level to get the maximum number of random drops.
  • You can also increase your chances of getting an Arrow of Slowness up to 93.75% with Loot III.
  • If the Rogue spawns with equipment, it has an 8.5% chance of dropping. You can increase these chances to 9.5%, 10.5% and 11.5% with Looting I, II and III respectively.
  • In the Bedrock version, roamers can drop skeletal wither skulls if they are killed by a charged creeper.

In addition, Rogues will drop five or more Experience Orbs if you upgrade an Armored Rogue. If you weren’t able to defeat this mob, you can also use the Tamed Wolf to get these experience orbs.

Tramp Behavior

  • The waifs behave just like skeletons, but make sounds with an echo effect in Minecraft.
  • They also shoot tipped arrows that can inflict a slow for 30 seconds.
  • Roamers do not take any damage from being frozen in loose snow.
  • In Bedrock Edition, rogues that spawn in Underwater use melee attacks to inflict Slow.
  • But it is worth noting that these mobs are not immune to Slowness.

How rare are rogues in Minecraft

The answer to this question depends on which biomes you are looking for the homeless in. You can find them in cold icy biomes, including snowy plains, ice spikes, and frozen rivers. Although they have replaced 80% of the skeletons, they are a little hard to find. This is because they only appear under the sky and shoot arrows with arrowheads.

So, the best way to find Rogues is to go to a cold and icy biome!
