Motorola Razr 3 will come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, Android 12 and second display

Motorola launched the Razr foldable smartphone in 2019. The foldable clamshell smartphone failed to attract buyers in India due to poor hardware and premium pricing. The company later updated the foldable smartphone with a 5G chip. It’s been a few months since the update and it looks like Motorola is working on a new foldable Razr smartphone.

The company has confirmed that the Razr 3 is coming soon. However, no official launch date has been announced yet. While we wait, a new XDA report has leaked the key specs of the upcoming Motorola Razr 3 foldable phone. Let’s take a look at the specs and features of the Motorola foldable smartphone that have been leaked ahead of the launch.

Motorola Razr 3 specifications leaked

Motorola will significantly improve the performance of the Razr 3, according to a recently leaked specs report from XDA. The report states that the foldable phone will feature a top-notch Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC under the hood. This will be a huge upgrade from the previous two generations, which were based on the Snapdragon 7-series chip. The original Moto Razr 2019 came with the Snapdragon 710 SoC, while the 2020 model came with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset.

The report also states that the phone will come with 6GB/8GB and 12GB of RAM. The foldable phone will also come with 128GB/256GB and 512GB storage options. It will download Android 12 out of the box. We can expect the device to have a MyUX layer on top of Android, which offers some user experience over stock Android.

The device will have a foldable Full HD+ AMOLED display. It will also support a 120Hz refresh rate. At the top center there will be a cutout for the front camera. The device will also come with additional camera sensors on the protective screen, the details of which are currently unknown. In addition to this, the Razr 3 will also support NFC, ultra-broadband, and more.

Based on the leaked specs, Motorola is aiming to offer a truly flagship experience with its upcoming foldable smartphone. It would be interesting to see how the company prices the device to compete with the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Samsung’s foldable clamshell phone costs $1,147. It comes in two variants: the 256 GB model costs $1,200.
