Unfortunately, there is no way to disable these effects. Previously, the NFS developers tweeted that smoke or light effects can be disabled. However, some time ago it turned out that it is impossible to disable effects in NFS Unbound. This second statement also came from the developer’s Twitter account.

Although you can try the workaround mentioned below to make the driving effects look less cartoony.
- Go to the Trips menu and select Styles.
- After that, go and enter the “Tags”section.
- Next, select the hidden label.

Apart from all the other flashy tags, the Cloaked tag makes sense in terms of appearance. This manifests itself in the form of gray smoke coming out from under the wheels when squealing. This is the best thing you can do to deal with the cartoonish driving effects in NFS Unbound.
