Some 16-inch MacBook Pros are having charging issues
According to several posts on Reddit, it seems that users are noticing that their laptop cannot charge when it is turned off. This is a special scenario that not all users may experience. A very specific case to reproduce, but still awkward
The problem does not occur if the machine is left on and the battery is above 80%. In other words, as explained above, this is a very specific case. And it otherwise only seems to affect the 16-inch MacBook Pro with the 140W charger that comes with the machine. Oddly enough, if you use USB-C to charge your device, there is no problem.
By the way, if you connect the MagSafe charger before turning off the device, you won’t have any problems either. So there are so many temporary workarounds. Some users also claim to have taken their car to an Apple Store. They would have been told that the Cupertino company knew about the error and was investigating it. Some were eligible to have their device replaced.
