An unexpected bug resulted in the removal of Bastion from Overwatch 2

Blizzard is having a hard time processing everything that has gone wrong in the last few weeks. It didn’t take long for Overwatch to experience its worst nightmares. From a DDoS attack during its launch to some unintentional bugs that prevent prepaid users from logging in with their phone numbers. Now the load on developers has increased as things have become even more complex. Some unexpected bug forced the developers to remove two of the most iconic damage heroes from the game. Unfortunately, Blizzard has temporarily removed Bastion and Torbjorn from Overwatch 2 to fix some bugs that are causing havoc in the game. Check out this guide to find out what happened and what was the main reason for their withdrawal from OW2.

Why is Bastion removed from Overwatch 2?

Shortly after the game’s launch, this critical bug left both Bastion and Torbjorn unstoppable. To be precise, players who had access to both of these heroes were given full control as the bug granted unlimited ultimate abilities. Torbjorn’s Bastion Artillery and Overload abilities became limitless due to this bug in Overwatch 2.

Due to this error, Bastion was able to launch multiple missiles on the battlefield, resulting in heavy debris. Whereas Torbjorn’s Overload ability gave him extra armor and mobility. Players noticed these bugs and they were shared on the internet and the developers didn’t take the time to look into the matter. On October 10, 2022, the developers posted a tweet saying that Bastion and Torbjorn would be temporarily removed.

Bastion and Torbjorn will be fixed and will be back in OW2 soon. While Bastion will be completely inaccessible, Torbjorn will still be playable in Quickplay.

This is why Torbjorn and Bastion have been out of Overwatch 2 for a while. If you found this guide helpful, be sure to check out our other Overwatch 2 guides.
