Netflix cancels ‘Space Force’ after two seasons
Netflix is canceling its Space Force series after two short seasons because it couldn’t garner enough viewership.
Netflix is a video streaming platform that offers lots and lots of original content. And to lead at this pace requires fast and firm management of license renewals. The platform has often spoken on this topic, too often making the wrong decision – namely the cancellation of this or that series – from the point of view of the fans. Today is another cancellation. It’s about the TV series “Space Forces”.
Netflix cancels ‘Space Force’ after two short seasons
That’s why Netflix just canceled Space Force, according to the always-well-informed website Deadline. Parks and Recreation co-creator Greg Daniels’ comedy series won’t get a third season. And this cancellation comes just a few weeks after Space Force Season 2 became available on February 18th. In the series, heavily inspired by the Trump administration’s decision to create a space force, Steve Carell was a four-star general. And despite his presence in the cast, as well as other personalities such as John Malkovich or Ben Schwartz, the series never managed to collect millions of fans.
due to the inability to gather a sufficient audience
Deadline reports that Netflix has shut down Space Force for the usual reasons. They are almost always the same. The series failed to garner enough viewership to justify its production budget.
The cancellation comes days after the platform made the decision to part ways with a number of members in order to launch a fan-only site, Tudum. On April 19, the company reported that it had lost about 200,000 subscribers during the first quarter of 2022, marking the first loss of subscribers in ten years.
