Netflix raises the price of its subscriptions

Netflix raises prices again. Tariff changes are currently limited to the United States.

With a catalog that continues to grow and a company that invests more and more in original content, both movies and series, it’s clear that Netflix’s spending is always more substantial. The company must also invest in its servers to be able to meet the demand of its ever-growing user base, especially as they watch their favorite content at ever higher resolutions. Hence the regular rise in prices.

Netflix raises prices again

All this, therefore, quite logically leads to an increase in the overall operating costs of the company. So it’s no surprise that Netflix just recently announced a new price hike for its subscriptions. This means that for US subscribers, the Basic plan will now be offered at $9.99 per month, one dollar more than the current rate.

This price increase extends, of course, to other offers. The Standard plan is now $15.49 per month, up from $1.50, while the Premium plan, which allows users to enjoy 4K and up to four devices simultaneously, is now $19.99 per month, up $2 more than before.

Tariff changes are currently limited to the United States.

According to Netflix, these new rates only apply to new subscribers, but will eventually apply to all subscribers. Those who are already registered should receive an email 30 days before the price change takes effect, allowing them to either change their offer or cancel their subscription, simple and straightforward.

As usual, this increase only affects the United States at this time, but it’s safe to say that the platform will push this change to Europe, more specifically France, in the coming weeks/months. To be continued!
