NFT for the Golden Ball

The famous award given to the best football player of the year will be honored in the NFT collection based on the Tezos blockchain.

Contemporary artist Leo Caillard, a visual artist who graduated from the school of tapestry and a crypto artist, a member of the NFT Factory collective, was commissioned by Doors Sport to create the NFT Ballon d’Or. They will be based primarily on pyrite, a rare mineral present at the base of the trophy, and will be carried by Tezos, a blockchain designed with energy efficiency in mind. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the collection will be donated to the Fondaction L’Équipe.

Emily Montane, Director of Strategy and Development of the L’Équipe Group, explains the ambition of the Ballon d’Or NFT collection:

This project, of course, was part of a strategy to diversify our activities. We could explore this sector with other brands, but Ballon d’Or does have strong characteristics. This is an international brand, extremely well known and already strong in the community, that we wanted to capitalize on and that we wanted to strengthen and expand. Another goal of the project is to find targets other than Ballon d’Or fans or football fans i.e. crypto natives and enthusiasts to get to know about this brand. There is also a desire to reach out to a young target, which is why we respect web 3.0 codes. Un has launched our discord, and we are committed to complying with all web 3.0 codes and cryptography in this project. For people less dedicated to this world, the lens is reversed.
