Adobe is announcing major new AI features for its Firefly tools, making the day-to-day work of creatives even easier.

Less than a month after launching its new Firefly generative artificial intelligence (AI) editing toolset, Adobe announces that it is already working on a number of improvements to bring even more options to users of Creative Cloud audio and video applications. These additions should appear in the Firefly beta program in the next few weeks or months.

Adobe announces major new AI features for its Firefly tools

Based on Sensei’s AI program, Firefly is a set of generative AI models that can create and transform audio, video, illustration, and 3D models with simple text prompts, similar to Dall-E and ChatGPT. Firefly features are already available across the Adobe ecosystem, including Premiere Pro, Illustrator, After Effects, and Photoshop, although they are only available through the closed beta program.

These new features have been thought and developed to help creative professionals reduce the time spent on the most tedious tasks such as enhancing colors, inserting placeholder images, adding effects and more. All they have to do is enter their idea in a few words in the special Firefly field and let the algorithm do its job. For example, “improvements in text-to-color conversion”, a wide range of options for adjusting brightness and saturation levels, the impact on the time of day – and even on the date throughout the year – simply using natural language.

These Adobe AI generative features will also extend to audio, with the ability to insert background music and other sound effects by simply and textually describing to the editor what you want. The animated font features we saw during last month’s launch should be coming soon, as is an automated b-roll feature that parses script content to create storyboards and suggests video clips. More impressively, Firefly will even be able to offer personalized tutorials to ensure new users can properly use these new features.
