New FIFA rival UFL reveals gameplay, Cristiano Ronaldo featured in poster
UFL, the free-to-play soccer game, has been in development for some time now, and developers Strikerz Inc. just released a trailer revealing the gameplay. The game is slated for release this year on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5.
One of the key points that the trailer and the UFL as a whole focuses on is that the game, in addition to being free, will also be fair. This refers to certain kinds of claims and payout issues and “scenario”present in other football simulations such as EA Sports FIFA.
For nearly 20 years, EA Sports FIFA has dominated the football simulation genre, and perhaps UFL is exactly what EA Sports FIFA needs to encourage competition in the industry.
UFL Gameplay Reveal featuring Cristiano Ronaldo
The gameplay demo was accompanied by a behind-the-scenes look from the development team and a performance by Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo. From what we’ve seen so far, it looks like the UFL has a huge potential for success as a free alternative to EA Sports FIFA.
Not too long ago, PES tried to capitalize on the free-to-play space with eFootball. However, things didn’t go according to plan, as the game’s launch was poorly received by fans and critics, and the hype collapsed under the weight of anticipation.
The UFL, on the other hand, plays its cards a little close to the chest, only revealing parts of the game over time. The game is due out in 2022 “when it’s ready”. So it may be a while before players can take control of their favorite clubs and teams in the UFL.
