The latest update also optimizes the gameplay and improves the game’s matching system. The latest BGMI 1.8.0 update is already available for iOS and Android users and can be downloaded from their respective app stores. Let’s see what’s new in the BGMI 1.8.0 update.
BGMI 1.8.0 Update: What’s New
Spider-Man: No Way Home Event
The Spider-Man: No Way Home event is the main change brought by the latest BGMI update. The Spider-Man theme is currently limited to Erangel and Livik only. There are three different modes in this event: Boss Challenge, Spider-Man Shooter Web Power, and Web Ball.
Boss Challenge allows you to fight the boss alongside Spider-Man inside the Mylta power. In Spider-Man’s web shooter power, players can shoot webs after they hit the map. Spider-Man’s web will slow the player down. Web Ball Mode allows players to slow down nearby players by shooting the Web Ball at the ground.
Livik: Aftermath
The BGMI 1.8.0 update introduced a new map called “Livik: Aftermath”. The map is now available for Classic mode players, however it will be in the unranked section so you don’t have to worry about getting negative points. The map revolves around a volcanic eruption that melted all the snow. It also removes obstacles, which means the enemy can easily spot you from a distance and vice versa.
The developers have equipped the weapon with a main AC module to reduce recoil so that it is easier to hold. The playing area has been reduced.
New supply store
The new update has a new in-game coin that users can collect while playing and buy items from the new store. Players can access the supply store anywhere on the map. This feature is currently only available for Erangel, Livik and Livik: Aftermath maps.
Remember the Tower
The new BGMI update features a comm/recall tower that allows the player to bring a dead teammate back to life via the recall tower. This feature is also limited to Erangel, Livik and Livik: Aftermath maps only.
Other changes
- The recoil of the M16A4 and MK47 has been reduced by 10%, and a tracer effect has been added to fired bullets.
- The recoil of the MG3 has been increased by 10%, and the base rate of fire has been increased to 660 rounds per minute.
- The player does not end up even if they are knocked out in the water, but rather remains in a floating state.
- The name of the place on the map is displayed in three dimensions, and automatic transition with ping becomes available.
- The merit level deduction penalty for malicious behavior, such as a team finish or offensive chat, has been increased.
