[Update] Oppo Reno 8 with design similar to OnePlus 10 Pro turned out to be fake
[Update] Oppo Reno 8 design leak turned out to be fake, according to Digital Chat Station. The leaked render of the Reno 8 is a fake, according to OnePlus China president Luis Li.
The original story follows…
Back in November, Oppo announced its Reno 7 series smartphones in the Chinese market. The company generally follows a 6-month launch cycle for the Reno series. This means that the launch of the Oppo Reno 8 series is just around the corner. Now, as part of a new development, the design rendering and key specs of the upcoming Oppo Reno 8 series device have been leaked on Weibo thanks to the Digital Chat Station.
A leaked render suggests that the design of the upcoming Oppo Reno 8 series device will be heavily inspired by the OnePlus 10 Pro that was launched earlier this year in China. The leaked render shows that the Oppo Reno 8 will offer a triple rear camera setup and a flat punch-hole display. Take a look at the leaked render below.
Rendering and design of Oppo Reno 8
The design of the camera module of the future Reno 8 looks the same as the OnePlus 10 Pro. This means we’re looking at a triple rear camera setup and a circular LED flash inside a huge module that extends to the right edge of the device. The upcoming Reno series phone also looks like it will have a laser autofocus module.
In terms of device specs, the upcoming Reno 8 series device is said to offer an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display panel is said to have a diagonal of 6.55 inches and a Full HD+ resolution. According to the leak, the device may offer a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor. Details, including the functionality of the other two sensors, remain unknown.
Other than that, the leak says nothing about the upcoming Reno 8 series device. However, since we’re not far from launch, we can expect to learn more about the specs as these devices hit certification websites in the coming weeks.
