The Sideloady update brings a few more bug fixes and reliability improvements.
Sideloady, the popular AltStore alternative for downloading. ipa files on iPhone and iPad as a way to bypass the App Store to install apps, received a fresh update on Tuesday with version 0.26.5.
In an announcement posted to /r/jailbreak this morning, Sideloady version 0.26.5 includes the following changes and improvements :
- Additional improvements have been made to the local anise version for macOS, making it more robust. The Mail app will automatically open with sideload, which is normal behavior and required for the local aniset to work.
- Sideloady can now automatically update the mail app plugin if needed in the future.
- We fixed an issue where modified and exported Sideloady. ipa caused issues when signing with other services.
- Fixed problem with file export. ipa on Mac computers with an Apple Silicon processor.
- Fixes a crash issue affecting older versions of macOS such as Sierra and High Sierra.
- Includes many other fixes and improvements.
Now that many of these bugs have been fixed, future updates will focus more on the user experience department, according to the Sideloady team. For example, among other things, it is planned to introduce automatic updating of downloaded applications.
The update described above is recommended for all existing Sideloady users due to many quality of life improvements and bug fixes. After starting an existing installation, the application automatically checks for updates and installs them.
